Catching up...

Sorry I have slacked on the blog this week! It's been a strange one so far. Casey has been sick the past few days with some kind of stomach bug. He stayed home yesterday. I had a migraine on Tuesday and stayed home from school, which sucked. I'm trying to make up for that now. We got a big assignment, and I'm a little lost, but I'm still taking tons of pictures anyway. Hopefully at least a few of them will be what my teacher asked for.

In more positive news, we had a lot of fun last weekend! Casey and I hung out together on Friday night and watched a movie. Saturday was spent getting the house ready for Ben & his fiance Amanda to come visit. They got here a little before 3:00 p.m. We had a lot of fun! We went out for coffee, then to downtown Naperville to my favorite Italian restaurant, Rosebud. We had an amazing dinner, and pretty much called it an evening after that. We came home and watched The Dark Knight and went to sleep. We were all stuffed after dinner so it didn't take much for us to get tired. Ben & Amanda brought their dog, Rockie, and he and Charley got to play quite a bit. Charley kept me up most of that night, though, because he was so excited that another dog was in the house, and he kept whining and going to the door to play. By the time the next morning rolled around, I looked like Hell and felt like it, too, but I managed to get a bit of energy and we all went out to our favorite pancake house for breakfast. It happened to be the one that Casey and I went to when we were deciding on which house to buy. Good memories!!

After breakfast, we came back home, and Ben and Amanda got ready to head back to Madison, WI. Less than ten minutes after they left, Jenny came by with Abby & Mya, her two Great Danes, and we spent the afternoon chatting and hanging out with the dogs before going to downtown Naperville again for lunch. Jenny stayed until about 4:30, then Charley and I crashed for a few hours. I was so tired, I know I was probably terrible company at that point! No thanks to Mr. Brown.

It was a fun weekend, and it looks like we're going to have another one! Mandi & Kyle invited us out for drinks tomorrow night in Naperville after work. I hope I will be celebrating, because I finally have an interview tomorrow!!! I'm trying not to get myself too psyched out over it, because I know I'm putting more pressure on myself when I do that, but it really would be a good fit, I think. I would work as a receptionist for Baird & Warner, the same company where we bought our house. Sharon called me on Tuesday morning and said they had an opening and she thought of me first. I meet with the assistant manager tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.. Anyway, I'm nervous, of course, but hopefully everything works out well. It would be nice to FINALLY have a job!!!!!

Saturday is Valentine's day, and Casey and I plan to go out for sushi. We don't really have plans other than that. He found tickets to see Chris Cornell in April, so I think that may be our big gift to each other this year!!! Hopefully it'll all work out. I am at a big loss of what to get him this year. It's hard to shop for someone who makes all the money in the family, and he is hard to shop for anyway!! I'll figure something out, I'm sure.

Finally, Sunday we are planning to go to Evanston to celebrate Misael's birthday. I don't have any details yet, but that is our plan so far. We will finally get to see their baby girl!! :-D

That's all for now. I'm going to get some things done around the house, and then maybe take Charley out so he won't be so whiny. I'll post a few pics from last weekend with the dogs... sadly enough, I only got pictures of our dog visitors and not the people that visited... I know, that's backwards. Anyway, I'll write more-probably after the weekend- to let you know how the interview and everything went. Ahhhhh!!!!

I saw Chris Cornell in concert a while back...almost 10 years ago now when his solo album came out. He was amazing! It was a little acoustic set at a smaller venue. So awesome! When/where is it? Maybe I should go too!
